Our D-core is FINE

Created by: SammyT_51
Team: 2018-19 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 19, 2018
Published: Sep. 19, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
We have zaitsev who is coming off horrible season and he is actually very good defensively, we have stay at home guy Hainsey who is reliable in his own zone playing RD and we have Ozhiganov who is going to be a beast. And in just his first game he was just that. Defensive beast. Many people dont realize that we were 11th in GA in the whole league with Polak and the-worst-year-of-his-career Zaitsev with pure offensive 50 point D Gardiner on one pairing.. we are going to be fine.

Reliable? In the year that was allegedly his career year he was -22 on a playoff team.

That is the stat line yes, but he was I think hovering close to even until Rielly got hurt and missed a few games with a sprained ankle. When Rielly came back he really struggled and him and Zaitsev had a stretch were they were minus 13 over a 7 game period or something ridiculous like that. Then he moved to the 2nd pairing with Gardiner and played better again.

Last year he started off with a ridiculous plus minus before he got hurt and then fell off. Plus minus doesn't mean a bunch. Hell Gardiner was a plus player last year, does that mean he's awesome defensively?

no, but I think it speaks a bit to reliability.

Alright, this conversation is going no where. Essentially this is your stance, "I don't care what you have to say, the Leafs suck, all of them, the bruins are better and nothing you say is going to change my mind."

I prefer discussing hockey with people that want to talk hockey not gush over their favourite players.

woowwwww inferiority complex much? You should probably take a gander on up earlier in the conversation. I was pretty complimentary of the leafs. I said I hope they get better, as it's good for the rivalries. I also said that I think they're blue line is bad. They're scoring power will largely make up for it, but if your stance is that they're good, then i have to just assume you're a just a little guy who hasn't figured out how to see your team for what it is instead of lie to yourself.
2 truths and a lie
The leafs are a real good team....

their blue line sucks

Ziatsev is reliable.
