I honestly thought about 2 years ago that Joe Sakic was one of the worst GMs ever.....He has made me feel like an idiot.

I like it!

But.. Lehtonen? What about Francouz? I strongly believe he will do awesome this year. I'm aware he's going to be in AHL, but his numbers are going to be great and then Varly is out of the door - boom. Gruby/Franc is up for the pressure!

Since hes my favorite player ever I gave him some rope but questioned decisions at times... however I'm happy with what he has coming down the pipeline

Yeah I dont know you can really fill in the spot with any reliable backup, I just know Kari was a starter in Dallas and Atlanta for so long hed be a good backup where as francouz is an unknown

True. Francouz is still unknown, and probably will be until and if he cracks the lineup somehow.

I just think Lehtonen is unreliable and has collapses. One night he's a goddamn wall and on another night he's a bag of rotten potatoes. But I get your point man!

Realistically you're probably picking in the top 3 (OTT pick) and around number 20 (COL pick) in June 2019. Best case scenario is about a 20% lottery shot at Hughes, if Ottawa finishes dead last. I think the Senators will surprise people a bit - since they have no pressure / low expectations, but unlikely to be better than bottom 3.

In any case, no doubt Colorado grabs 2 high quality picks next summer and should be a force for the next 5-6 years until you run into cap trouble with too much young talent.

Amazing the package that Sakic got for Duchene, still boggles the mind when you look at all the other high-profile players traded since for much less in return.

Haha yeah that's realistic I was just saying best case scenario Ottawa gets second overall pick and colorado misses the playoffs this year and wins the lottery with their own pick

I can, if you can I assume everyone can, but there is almost a year between now and then and the #2 spot could change
