Description
Vegas blew their window wide open last year, but I'm personally still not sold on their blue line. Having already been active on the trade market, I could see them going after a big name guy like Faulk and maybe even moving a first rounder to do it, especially with Schmidt out for the first quarter of the season. Carolina gets a depth piece for their middle/bottom six who can play almost anywhere and a first round pick, which is more than they can say for the return for Skinner. Additionally, Shea Theodore gets signed at the end of September on a bridge deal, similar to the ones signed by Nurse and Morrissey. Vegas will be above the 23-man limit on rosters when Schmidt returns so I could see them waiving Nosek or sending Hyka to the AHL. Perhaps they'd instead try to move Eakin or Carrier instead, but the former has a high cap hit and the latter is pretty good in the bottom six so idk.

Ngl this is A very good trade but the knights should throw in a player like carrier instead of a third.

Their D played above their potential last season.

I like this trade and seeing Faulk go to Vegas instead of any other team would make me happy!

I don't mean to sell them short lol. Theodore, Schmidt and Miller and good in their own right, but it is weaker than the other giants of their conference, on paper at least. Faulk would be a good fit

You didn't sell them short. The guys you mentioned did a good job, but adding Faulk would bolster their blueline a lot. Having him playing 25 minutes a night would be great for them.

Love the Faulk trade, reallly makes sense for the team but time is tight to make it happen.
In terms of the lines, there’s a lot of changes. Hyka is no where near making the 23-man squad. Based on how things have gone so far in the preseason, I could see Haula playing 2ndLine RW with Stas and Patches. I would then put Nosek-Eakin-Tuch as the third. The fourth would be Carrier-Belle-Pirri/Carpenter.

Honestly, I got the lines from this article about what their bottom six should look like and just took that. Hyka being part of it surprised me too, but I just assumed he was closer than I'd guessed. So you probably know better than me what the lines should be, this is just based on some article tbh

No problem, our lines are hard to predict and understand unless you’re really someone who follows everything they do so it’s fine. I was just recommending what changes I would make based on what I’ve seen and know from watching the team so far this pre-season.
I’ve seen that article too btw, and it really misses the mark on few things when I read it.
