Description

Leafs send a 2nd to Arizona to take on Marleau for a year to hit the floor because his contract is 80% paid in bonuses so he would only be 1-2 million in cash but a 6.25 cap hit. Arizona always gets a contract like these to hit the floor while getting an asset

No.. dont sign Gardiner and Leivo to contracts and you dont have to move Marleau who is first of all freak of nature and would possibly get contract in NHL after Leafs tenure because he is ironman and second of all he has NMC and would not be moved. The fact is.. Gardiner would be gone July 1st 2019..

Agree with your Marleau statement. But really it doesn't really matter what Nylander "wants". No team in the NHL is paying him top 5 RW money.. About 6.5m is a good salary for Nylander "comparable". It is a big gap between the two parties hence the no signing. A comparable two year bridge would be 4m. Nylander has very little leverage, so it's either Europe or agreeing to Leafs term in all likelihood.

NEWS ALERT. ALL TORONTO MAPLE LEAF FANS. Patrick Marleau has a NMC in his contract and if you keep trading him to free upcap space i will think you know nothing about hockey. Why would he accept a trade from a team that you all believe will win multiple cups allow a team to trade him to a team with no chance to win a cup. Stop being stupid and understand he is not accepting a trade you are stuck with him for 2 more years.
