Love Picks but there is 0 Need for him.

He was a below average back up and I like what Francouz has shown over Pickard. Love-able character but his days are done as a NHL back up

What about next year when varly leaves, I'd rather have pickard around in case grubauer or francouz needs help

And what have you seen of francouz? One game of the preseason? The guy is still an unknown, we know what we have in pickard from the season 2 years ago

Pickard is an AHL goalie and doesnt really do anything to the NHL level., he doesnt offer much in terms of quality of depth. Still have Martin, Petr Kvaca and Adam Werner who has already came over to NA before and need to find their new spots. I dont see any need for Pickard when you have a potential equivalent in Francouz.

Love Picks as the person but hes done as a NHL hopeful. Hes going to be 27 at the end of this season and hasnt been able to break into a consistent roll at the NHL level.

watching him at the Worlds this spring, Dev camp highlights, played well in Pre-Season. There is a lot of interest and promise there.

It's a pitty he left Avs.

As a backup for the Avs he played 16 games with 93,2 in 14/15, and in 15/16 he played 20 games with 92,2.

For a backup, I would say that's pretty fine numbers. Saros played 21/26 games with the Predators and posted 92,3 and 92,5 and that's with a much better D-core than the Avs.

He was the back up with the Marlies....why would you think 4 years removed from respectable numbers that he will be better in the NHL as a back up when he wasnt that great in the AHL s a back up on one of the best AHL teams

Hes not a good goalie guys, sorry but his time has passed. He was a above average back up back then now he is a below average back up. You dont have to burn a roster spot and playing time away from someone for no reason

I'm not saying he should back somebody up in the NHL. I'm just trying to reason, that the guy actually put up some decent numbers on a team that's not even near a team like Nashville.

Also, with so many other backups in the show this year, he should probably head to Europe and try out his luck. With his frame and skills he could easily split time with another goalie in SHL, KHL, NLA, Liiga.

I think Pickard would be a bad signing for the Avs. Liked the guy but unnecessary as it stands.
