You know preseason doesnt indicate anything right?

Detroit was 7-1 this preseason. They may not win 7 games this year. Don't put too much stock in the preseason. This season is going to be a grind for Canes fans. They will either be in the thick of it all year, or they'll have goalie issues again and may be out of it rather early.

Best pre-season canes have ever had. Might not mean anything to anyone else, but im f'n pumped.

I should have said in the regular season but that was implied at least. Technically they have won 7 games this year, if we count preseason. I'd also wager they may have won 7 games technically in 2018 but the point is, they had a great preason and will be awful this year.

I hope they do well, but I think the likeliest scenario is they finish somewhere around 10th place again. I just don't see enough scoring and I think they will need better than league average goaltending to make the playoffs. They'll need help too as all the teams they are chasing should be as good or better than last season.

I feel like if Svech, Zykov, Necas, and Ferland, all get over their expected 20 goals, I think we will be fine.

That's a lot to ask from that group. Svech will score and I think Necas will be a great player as well. I don't know much about Zykov but Ferland is just a depth guy. He's nothing special, he's not trash but he's just an average player, don't expect him to be a huge contributor.

Pretty decent preseason.

This team looks very good and I believe already this season we'll see significant improvement from the kids.

Although I trust the Canes to ship Faulk out of there, which will hurt the team defensively, they have a bright future ahead of them. Aho is going to fire up the wheels and with those silky mitts he's gonna be one hell of a player for them.

LW - WEAK C- WEAK RW- not too bad D- Good G- Bad guys will be at the bottom of the metro again. ferland is a good player when he is playing with good players your center core is weak wont help out your wingers. I Dont see you guys beating out PENS, WSH, CBJ, PHILLY, NJ, at least your better than NYI right ?

I disagree that it is a lot to ask. Zykov and Mcginn WILL surprise people this year.



I do agree that it will be very hard for them to beat out a lot of the Metro teams, But I think we are inching closer to top 3 in the div. I think the canes are equal to or better than NYI, CBJ, and NYR. Just my opinion though.

division is tough, last three Stanley cup champions from the metro, add in Columbus who plays well during the regular season(postseason is another matter, they have less home wins in their home arena than at least one or two road teams have in their arena), still got philly and the hall's(I mean devils). Without good goaltending they might still be ahead of both new York teams at least but gonna be harder to be any higher than that.

If their goaltending holds up, I'd agree as well.
