Can you explain why goalie Steve Mason was voided.
He was signed in the game, before the buyout IRL.
Florida then missed the buyout window.

I just don't see any reason why he should not count against the cap.

From a sportsnet article a while ago. I have that quote saved when we had this problem with Jon. I don't have the link for the entire article. It doesn't mean he is retiring, just means that retiring is a good option for him so he should still count towards the cap

He's NOT yet retired. Merely a player without a contract. However, based on the game rules since he was not signed by any team in real life by Sept 15/18 he is therefore allowed to be removed from the in game team.

The cutoff date was Sept 15. Any player not signed in real life by that date is eligible to be released from their in game team.

We're allowing just straight contract termination for anyone who didn't have a NHL contract by September 15th.\

FLA chose not to buy him out in-game.

Just seems like cap circumvention.
