yeah no, Nylander is on the first line and kapanen moves back down to the third.. enough with this recency bias.. Nylander is a better player and if he was here he would be putting up way more numbers.

Nylander will certainly not start on the first line... you have heard the name mike Babcock before right?.

I was thinking he would play a game or two on the fourth line. After looking at this I think you are really on to something. Put him with Kadri and get Kadri going get some more goals from that 3rd line.

please tell me when i said kapanen was better? Matthews line is ripping the league apart, and babs wouldnt break that up. Nylander could come in and get kadri going, giving the leafs 3 extremely dangerous lines. If the matthews line slows down then ya you put willy back up there, but why not keep the lines that are clicking together.

I think after a few games nylander is back on the top line. Wouldn’t mind seeing kappy move to the left. Than you have the option of either leivo, marleau or Hyman going to the Kadri line. Hyman Kadri and brown would be a tough line to play against.

Switch Leivo for ennis and by mid season, barring a trade, ozzie for Z and i think your close. That'd give the leafs 3 interesting d options. Also, barring a trade, i could see dubas making something outside the box happen.. like a rick nash taking a mike fisher deal at the trade line.. just to mess with us leaf fans and internet forums..

Matthews is ripping up the league with almost half his offense coming on the Powerplay, he's been less than dominant at 5v5. Mainly because his linemates haven't been up to snuff so far. Kapanen has helped but he still misses passes and sometimes is out of position. Marleau hasn't scored yet and really only Matthews has been dominant. Giving him Nylander will make him even more terrifying. Kadri has hit the post so many times this season already, his line is producing just unlucky.

Nylander is back with Matthews when he returns, Kap may end up back on the 4th line.

ok sorry used to leafs fans saying nylander sucks had to defends him.. personally i would like to see kapanen-matthews-nylander second line stays then marleau-kadri-brown .. marleau has been just ok on the matthews line and i think kapanen and nylander already have the chemistry built in from being best friends and from the marlies and now matthews and kappy are gaining momentum like you said and obviously you know willy and matthews are lethal together and last year marleau and kadri were very good together and that also makes that kadri line a decent shutdown option as well as more of a threat to score

Nylander is the best option on the first line and babcock wants him back.. when nylander gets paid he is going to be on the first line and he is going to be goood there.

Nylander missed camp and hasn’t played a game since the playoffs last year. There is a good chance he does not get put back on the top line right away.

Nylander at 50% is better then kappy.. but anyway.. he has been training all summer and all the time he has been out.. hes in great shape and hes an amazing player.. i think he will be ok .

Nylander and kappy are two different types of player. Nylander for sure is the more skilled player, I would not want either at 50%. What kappy is lacking in finess he makes up for with grit.
