There isn't one in New York either. Islanders ain't touching that. And I don't even want Leddy again.

Fair enough, any ideas on where to send him?

Thats the question. Toronto would be a decent spot, as they're in need for a DFD. Pittsburgh is looking for RD depth, he'd be good with Maatta. There's a few good possibilities for sure.

Make a post, try to get rid of Seabrook as a bonus. I’d like to see how that works out.

Moving Seabrook is basically impossible and I think everyone has accepted that now.

I posted before the season started Saad and Seabrook for Bobby Ryan and Dzingel. Throw in additional picks/prospects on either side to make it work. Also may not be as strong now since Saad's value is currently low.
But I think Seabrook for Ryan could be the basis of a Seabs trade. Have to take cap hit to relieve a cap hit.

And I know Ryan isn't worth his contract either but
1) it gets rid of Seabrook, do I need to say more?
2) I'd rather have a struggling forward than a struggling defensemen when we have this surplus of d men to fill the roll.
3) Ryans contract has 4 years remaining compared to Seabrooks 5
4) Ryan is still capable of being an offensive asset and the hawks need that

Leddy was Mr. Futility last year. Trading Seabrook for Leddy is a lateral move. You might be overpaying for it, unless that's about the money.

If you want to dump a mid-priced defenseman like Murphy, NYI seem like a great place. Just leave him on the doorstep. No need to include picks.

The hawks D core is in shambles, not that it matters if Seabrook is on it or not at this point. Not a terrible idea, it could work, but the NMC complicates things.

Even though it is shambles, somebody we have can fill Seabrooks role. It's not like we are losing a superstar.

As much as our D is struggling, so are the forwards. We can't rely on Kane and Debrincat to score all the goals. Schmaltz finally got his first goal tonight. Toews, Kane, and Debrincat all have been doing their fair share while Marcus Kruger is the only other player on the team with more than one goal. I think a big problem has been our 3rd line. 3rd line has been changed up a lot this season and I don't think Q has hit the right formula yet.He should try Saad - Kampf - Fortin, put Kunitz on the 4th line. Adding Ryan could help with the scoring.

But yeah, the NMC complicates it big time. Why would he waive it for Ottawa? The only way I see us getting rid of him is swapping bad contracts. His is too long for somebody to just take. Lucic, Eriksson, Ladd, Alzner? idk, It's just hard to see a team taking on Seabrook.

Let's be honest, Kunitz shouldn't even be playing anymore, he's been terrible. The hawks have so many assets that can be moved to improve the 3rd line. Forsling, Murphy, Krys, Mitchell, and Beaudin should be shopped, while moving just a couple and a pick to solidify the third line. This team is actually decent surprisingly, it's just a matter of getting the right role players. Anisimov hasn't done anything, he's been very disappointing.

Yeah I was very disappointed when our off season signings included Kunitz and Manning. Kunitz career is over. And I agree, shop them. We need one more solid guy to round out that 3rd line. Sikura will likely have a chance to come and fill a role like Teuvo did during 2015. Saad, Sikura, Fortin and this hypothetical person we pick up for the 3rd line. Kampf - Kruger - Hayden on the 4th. Forwards are now well rounded. This team is not far from being legit.

I think you are spot on for everything except Beaudin and Mitchell.

I only said trade a couple of the 5. Mitchell is going to have trouble fitting in behind Seabrook, Boqvist and Jokiharju.

Yes but I would prefer to hold onto him until we see what he is made of, by the time he is done with college Seabrook will have 3 years left on his contract and could be a easier move should Mitchell be the real deal. You have to figure one of Jokiharju, Boqvist, or Mitchell is going to be a bust, and I think holding onto each asset as long as you can, especially with younger defenseman is the best move to make atm.

Good point, but it's not like Stan isn't going to sign any free agent D.
