That is the only point. Why isn’t he playing right now for the leafs? Bc he wants too much money. Why would any other team agree his value is that? And Pesce again in a great defensive defensemen on a great contract. His play and contract basically everything about him has positive value.

Also if he’s so talented why don’t you just pay him the 7.5-8 million he’s asking for. Or why is he even being traded ever? Generational players are rarely traded this often right. Tell me why he would be traded or not signed if he’s so good. Just asking?

He's not a generational player, he's extremely talented and I think he can develop into an elite player but he's not generational. I have posted many times on here that I would pay him 7.5 million. I have no problems with that, but I'm not sure he'll get that much.

So this is what I've learned from these discussions today.

The consensus is Nylander is worth somewhere around 7 million on a long term deal.

Pesce is worth around 4 million.

Those numbers are not equal, according to their respective salaries, Nylander is almost twice as valuable as Pesce. A 3rd rounder is a 25% chance at maybe having a player who plays at least 100 games. That means there is a 75% nothing comes of it. So that value is essentially nothing.

So this is Cap friendly and fan logic,

Salary value is completely different than trade value. Player A is worth 7 million when you sign him but if you trade him he's worth 4 million.

That makes absolutely zero sense.
