The Breadman

Created by: Bruins3773
Team: 2018-19 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 12, 2018
Published: Nov. 13, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Every Bruins fan wants to see a #72 jersey stitched up with the name Panarin on the back of it, and there is not a better time to make this trade than right now. The Bruins cannot score besides the top line of destiny, and Panarin wants to get out of Columbus ASAP. So, this trade works for both sides, Boston gets the scoring, and Columbus gets a young top 9 forward (Heinen), and a depth vetran forward (Backes), and some high draft picks. Both sides walk out of this deal happy.
Trades
CBJ

Additional Details:
If Panarin resigns with Boston, 2020 3rd Round Pick becomes a 2020 2nd Round Pick

Panarin has said he wont accept a trade once season begins so this deal makes 0 sense on happening and has said he wants to go to a california based team or nyr or buffalo.

This is also not nearly enough. Like, miles apart.

As you said, Heinen is top 9 - I like him, but I don't see him becoming a top line guy, ever. A late 1st round pick is nice, but likely a guy who wouldn't play in the NHL for 2-3 years (if at all). we're not talking about a lottery pick and a veteran who can't seem to crack get off the 4th line of the Bruins for 3m x 3years? That For one of the best players in the game?

Panarin would cost at least one, probably two (depending on who) of (Donato, Heinen, Bjork, Debrusk) - Plus a 1st rd pick and another legit prospect (studnicka, Frederic, JFK, Vaakananan, Zboril).

If you added Backes to the deal (at this point he has negative value - even at 3m (he has NO points through 12 games and doesn't look good). Also, Backes probably doesn't waive to go to CBJ

The deal you proposed is less than what they gave up for 35 year old Rick Nash who was clearly on the back 9 of his career.

"Veteran depth forward" is a funny way to spell "cap dump"

Imo, to get bread you'll give up Donato, a first, Studnicka, a third and another decent prospect.

Yes, however, if a deal does not happen, Columbus will become desperate to make a trade so that they can get something for Panarin.

?????/. What? Columbus is in first place, they just might want Panarin for a Cup run. By your logic, why would the Bruins trade Panarin because he going to be a UFA next summer.

Columbus has to resign both Panarin and Bobrovsky this offseason, they won't have the cap space to keep both, so why not try to get something for one of them?

Because contenders very rarely trade upcoming UFAs, contenders generally add upcoming UFAs for in hopes of deep playoff. And no CBJ don't have to resign Panarin and Bob, it's OK to let them walk as UFAs, The idea would be to spend that money wisely that he had allotted for them on other players.

They will, but they won't take that. They could also very easily resign both. With the exception of Dubinsky their cap is in great shape, and he's not even that bad.

I'd rather have Heinen in here over Donato. Feel that Donato has more potential and is better.

Uh, I beg to differ. He had 43 points in 29 games with Harvard last year, in addition to playing in the Olympics, and 9 point in 12 NHL games last year. Yes he had a rough start with the Bruin this year, but he has been phenomenal in Providence.

That’s fine, he might turn out to be good, but you said he was better than heinen. He isn’t. Donato was utterly horrific in the nhl this season. Potential? Sure. But right now he isn’t an nhl player. Heinen had 47 points last year with awesome two way play

So then with Donato's potential, there is more reason to trade Heinen

Except one is an nhl player and the other stinks. If they were rebuilding, sure. They aren’t
