It's so hard not to like Cole as a player. He's got grit, he blocks shots, he usually makes the safe play. I really wish they didn't trade him last year. I know FA they probably couldn't afford to keep him. But man, he is a good bottom pairing player. Just as long as he can stay out the box.

You think they get Cole in FA if they don't sign JJ?

nah they burned that bridge a long time ago. They healthy scratched him early last year then trade him. He wasn't coming back to Pitts even if they didn't sign Jack

Hes a 2nd pairing Dman, easily a safe steady 2nd pair guy. Pitts and Sullivan started to torpedo him in a lesser role for no reason. Love the signing, hes a calming steady Dman back there, perfect with Barrie

oh no there were reasons. He was in the box like every 10 minutes.

So who did you hire after firing Sullivan before making this trade. Sullivan didn't play Cole before, he's not going to do it now.

I dont get the reasoning behind COL taking Maata because he might need a fresh start... you dont trade a well performing player for an underperforming player just because the underperforming one might be better on a different team, and even then he wouldn't be much better than Cole. High risk low reward move for COL. the two late picks wont mean much to COL either

Sorry but no. Pittsburgh had their chance and blew it. He's been arguably our best D and easily a solid 2nd pairing guy. Hard pass.
