Marlies don't need those players. Leafs would want a ready now young D-man if traded. The Hawks don''t fit with what the Leafs need. Good luck though...

At least your not being a d*ck about it. Leafs are trading Nylander tonight or tomorrow tho IMO.

You might be correct about that. I think he gets traded too.

Well, he isn't traded unless he's signed. Teams are trading for a signed player not rights.
Stan, do you really that Sikura is an NHLer? 23 year olds who are doing OK in the AHL doesn't scream NHLer to me. One of the two young Dmen drafted last year would have to be included in a trade

Classic example of quantity for quality -offer. Which very rarely works.

Value-wise, It's not that bad, I just don't think it fits to Toronto's needs.

My wild guess is that TOR might consider trading Nylander for Jokiharju+2nd. There's a potential NHL ready right handed defenseman who's cost controlled nicely for a long time.

I'll get killed for saying this, but Jokiharju is more valuable than Nylander. He is three years younger, an RHD, already near elite in a matchup role, and creates a ton of offense. Now Nylander is a better player, but there are more first line sub-25 year old right wingers in the league that are Nylander skill level than sub-25 year old top pairing RHDs. There are six other RWs 23 or under in the league that are near Nylander's skill level. There is one U21 defenseman near Jokiharju's skill level in the league, who is McAvoy. Nylander may be better, and the value may be equal, but Jokiharju is a rare talent for his position and age. Once he is 22 he could be in a league by himself. Nylander probably won't be.

Wow. Are you really saying that Jokiharju is a TOP3 U21 D in the entire league?

I personally would at least put Charlie McAvoy, Rasmus Dahlin and Miro Heiskanen ahead of him.

Top 2 U21 RHD. There is more young talent on the left side than on the right in this league.

I don’t think he wants to be in the AHL, but I do believe that he will prove he is an nhl player when we get some call ups.
