Additional Details:

Arizona has a new young core and i think that Backes, even though on a bad contract still has veteran leadership. IDK if Arizona thinks they want a veteran leader with Grabner and 2 or 3 older players but Backes has wore a C and an A before and he probably has more experience in leading a locker room. I think a 3 and a 4 is probably enough for Arizona to accept this deal... Buying out Backes is another idea but I would rather see Backes go to another team for certain. BTW, Backes is a M-NTC right now so yeah.

The contracts are mostly good, except for Donato. He's been horrible. Nothing to warrant 2 milllion bucks.

no, Backes is on a M-NTC at this point in time. Honestly, a good amount of teams will take that deal. I was thinking that Donato could do something after getting called up. He had a strong game and could develop on it. It would have been like 1.2 for a year. I don't think he deserves an AHL contract but anything could happen. I am hoping he does well as we seen him do. 2M for 2 years is decent IMO if he does well...

really, I thought he would be worth a bit more. Like a 1.1/1.2M. A million deal kinda feels a bit too less for what he has done and what he could do and what he might be doing this year. IDK tho. Just depends on how well he does.

yeah ik, we'll see tho. He actually might to be honest. There is a solid young core which can definitely win a cup. Not saying they will or their young core does well, but we'll see. Quite some teams will say yes to a trade like that tho...
