This trade is similar to the one STL did when they acquired him. They traded two firsts and a cap dump (Lehterä) with PHI for Brayden Schenn. Because this cap dump contract is a tad bigger, another prospect is added.

Also in the trade there's included a swap of D-men. Both of them could benefit from a change of scenery

I’ll take any bad cap-hit you want and retain on Schenn, but please not Backes. The issues in STL are systematic and bringing back our old captain just makes it worse. The Blues need to go forward as an organization and not revert to what worked in the past.

Blues - like the concept, but not 2 1sts.

Oilers - laugh at that offer

Dallas - they would likely accept but trading both Krug and Grizz is not a good idea, transition game is terrible as it is which is big reason why the offense is struggling, moving the 2 healthy d men that can move the puck only makes it worse

NJ - Surprisingly, for the season, Grizz has been the best defenseman. I like Boyle, but not that much.

Nope. I have always liked Ritchie, he sucks, but i like him. Oilers still decline.

As an Oilers fan who watches Matt Benning every game, he shouldn't be in your top 4. He's brutal, he shouldn't be in anyone's top 6. He's such a liability, he belongs in the AHL until he figures some things out
