It's not a horrible offer for Mark Stone, but we both know Ottawa would get better ones.

A hundred percent, Stone wont come to Calgary without Tkachuk going the other way, which I wouldn't want in any way, this is more or less what I would be willing to offer I guess!

Stone is arguably a top defensive forward in the league, he is a more talented Lindholm, if we can run lines with Stone, Lindholm and Backlund separately I guarantee our GA will drop significantly. Smith has it in him to turn it on when need be, I think he is the opposite of Elliott from two years ago and you see a goalie that will propel a team further in the playoffs. I think that there will be a 65/35 split the rest of the season in favour of Smith and it will benefit the Flames, given I am a bit of a Smith apologist but I genuinely think that he will be able to shoulder the Flames all the way through the playoffs.

Dorion might make poor choices yes, but even he’d know Tkachuk is better than Stone (same stats but way younger) and therefore is off limits.
