What is that Allen trade? Allen is pretty bad and is definitely worth much less than Varlamov without the pick. Also why are Nemeth and Timmins bought out?

Should rather reverse. If COL agrees to take Allen in an exchange for Varlamov (which I doubt very much), it's STL who has to pay a 1st rounder to COL to go with. And STL must add an "A prospect" to get rid of Allen and to make this trade with a division rival.

It would be a lot more accurate like that:

STL
Varlamov

COL
1st rounder (probably just in 2021 because of the O'Reilly trade with BUF)
D. Bokk OR K. Kostin
Allen ( $1,35M retained)

The st Louis trade is bad enough, but buying out one of the leagues best defensive prospects? And trading a better player and picks for chaisson who I believe was a pto this year
