Remove the 1st and 2nd Rounder and add a draft pick from Stl. Will people stop over rating an aging Pietro who is starting his twilight years and is 1 1/2 seasons away from UFA. Next Bruins fans will expect a 1st and 2nd Round pick and a top prospect and a current young NHL star player for Chara.

Still bad for the pens. I hope they are done trading away their future. I don’t think the Pens are one petro away from winning the cup.

pens could win the cup still without peiterangelo haha. they still have a very good team. once Schultz comes back from injury they will be in contention. He was a big loss for us. As long as pens make playoffs, they can beat any team

It’s going to be a hard fall with no first rounder prospects though. That’s my point. Pens have been giving up too much of their futures.

oh ya eventually they'll be brutal, but they're still eying cups. from 2007-2018, the only first round pick they've developed was maatta... absolutely atrocious.

That's literally what people have been saying for the last decade. They went on their last few runs with their core pieces supplemented by guys taken later in the draft.

Highly unlikely that a player taken in the late first round of the next draft is going to be a significant piece of a Crosby-Malkin team in the next 3 years.

That is the issue, you can only sustain that for so long. The percentage rate of players that will be nhlr’s later in the draft falls significantly.

The Pens depth just isn’t there and look at the outlook here

No 2019 first or 3rd and 2020 no first or 2nd round pick. You have a depleted reserve of prospects and your chances of getting an nhlr from the picks in the next two drafts is low. All for 1.25 years of Petro.

PIT should learn from CHI and LAK and trade their core for a rebuild before it's too late, maybe not this year, but soon.

If you keep worrying about your future, you end up being run like the Pirates. Lots of profits, no success today.

In other news, when did 28 become "twilight years"?
