again he's good but he's a top LD and a #2 D at best when there are the better part of 30 other teams with undisputed #1 D including CAR IMO as Hamilton >Slavin .(he may not skate as fast but he's a complete D player and Leader.

is Slavin good ? yes .
is he Karlsson package good like everyone's chirping , ABSOLUTELY NOT .

is Slavin gonna land a decent amount ? for sure
is he going to be paid like an All Star NHL player , No because he's never even been on the short list for an NHL All Star roster.

So he’s never been an all star so he’s not good? So I guess Nicklas Backstrom isn’t good either by that standard. Slavin isn’t Karlsson level of talent but he’s for sure top 10. Look at all his advanced number, they are incredible. Hard to think of 20 dmen who are better, would love to hear who you put ahead of him.

Danault is only a piece of the Slavin trade and he has value his contract is fair he’s still young he’s a very good 3c 2b at best I know this but Tatar can score and canes need that just because he didn’t In Vegas doesn’t mean he’s worth nothing and he’s playing great right now and 2 mid round 2nds In a good draft so I put togeather 4 solid pieces for one great one not trying to under value slavin but Carolina was deep on D so loosing slavin for some more offence wouldn’t hurt them as much as it would other teams if not him I would target flurey

On Petry he’s 8th in the league in D-man scoring he’s been playing top paring minutes for over a year last year he had 42pts on a bad team with Karl Alzner as his partner against the other teams top players and that’s at 4 mill for 2 more seasons he’s got value don’t kid yourself and leafs can trade kapanen because of there talent up front kapanen is a RFA and needs a raise in the leafs cap crunch and they will probably loose him in the expansion draft if kept I think leafs need a good top 4 D-man more than they need a scoring winger ....remove kapanen fill with Nylander and upgrade D but just a shot not everyone is gunna like it thanks for the comments
