Interesting deal. But can't Brassard waive the deal off?

Why do Pens fan want Sutter back? Expensive with to much term left.

IMO Pitt's window is now and looking to buy this year, Van is selling looking for twenty-something year old prospects

it's like pulling teeth to get the penguins to pay more than 3 million for 3C. They got their cap structure and they stick too it. Hell they gave up an arm and a leg to get Brass salary held down to 3 mil. They wouldn't pay Bonino over 3 mil. I doubt they would pay Sutter 4.4

Word is Pitt is shopping for third line center now, and fans seem to want to move Maatta to get one

How about Van retaines 1.5 on Sutter and gets Buff's 4th

yeah i don't know about that one. He has a NTC anyway. I doubt he waives to go to the penguins. Especially since he's already been there once before. I didn't think he was all that bad in his time there, but that was a while ago.

Wouldn't mind this deal at all. Sutter wasn't a bad 3rd line center just wanted more money than he was worth, to the pens anyway. Get a qulaity top 4 dman on an expiring contract and a decent wing prospect.
It would all depend on how high Van is on Maatta. Elder will probably resign again with Van if they want him so they really lose nothing there.
So really it would be Maatta, Brassard and a 4th for 3-4months of Elder, a cheap 3rd line center and a Goldobin.
As far as Brassard waiving I think he would waive to go to a team that will play him top 6 minutes. He won't get that here and will want to start putting up numbers for a contract as he is a UFA at seasons end.

No thanks! The last thing we need is another LHD. I’d rather just keep Maatta over Edler. I’d rather just keep Brassard over 3 years of a declining Sutter who is probably just transitioning into an extremely expensive 4th line center. And the fourth round pick isn’t tradeable as it’s a conditional pick and probably gonna become a 3rd.
