Description

Calgary is looking for a LD, Valimaki may need to condition in the AHL when he returns and we are one injury away from Dalton Prout playing which is terrifying

Allen could push Rittich and play ever 3-5 games and give us a shot to win at least, I know his play has picked up recently so I may be low balling him.

Frolik trade is not necessary at all but Colorado needs to get a little deeper and Calgary could use draft picks all the time. maybe replace Fro with Czarnik in the trade.

Probably need a conditional 2020 2nd rather than a 3rd as STL will want a bit more for Allen even though he is inconsistent

I debated between a 2nd and a 3rd, my reasoning in the end was if the Blues were to retain on Allen for 3 years, 2nd, retaining on Bouwmeester as a rental 3rd. The retention on Bouwmeester really only matters if Stone is not on LTIR. I don't disagree with you and a second may not be enough with such a shallow goalie market

Dont mean to be rude but why would Calgary want to do this? From the blues POV you are takiing away 2 garbage players from the blues.

Not rude at all sir! That's what the post is for. If Allen is garbage than Smith has been the whole entire landfill lately, essentially this trade is Allen for Mangipane and a 3rd, Calgary needs a goalie desperately and getting Bouwmeester is insurance until Valimaki is ready to go again Kylington has been great but if a D man were to go down it would be a way better situation than us playing Dalton Prout.

While I think a Conditional 2nd that turns into a first if Allen makes Conference Finals seems very reasonable of a switch. I think Smith retires at the end of the year.
