Who ever you were talking too is full of $h!t. Also how are you going to kill Couturiers career like that, putting him with those wingers

So Couts for basically nothing? Philly cuts the phone cord so they don't even think about answering another call from Buffalo

a 1st round pick and a projected top 9 center in asplund and Thompson who himself was a 1st rounder and is still only 21? that's hardly a bad offer for Couts. I'm not saying it gets it done for sure, but its a fair offer to start from.

It'll be a very late 1st and Thompson has not been good in the NHL and is a major risk. Couts being top 5 two way center makes this trade so off

IDK about Couts being a top 5 two way center. He's very good and somewhat cheap which helps boost his value; which is why I think Sabres would still have to add. ROR was an actual top 5 two way center and netted a deferred Lottery protected 1st, Thompson and 2 cap dumps (sobotka and Berglund). Obviously a different situation as Philly has no real need to move Couts but I just don't think the trade is as far off as you think.
