If the Caps miss the playoffs, I don't think their players will keep that much value. But their 1st pick sure will. smile

2020 1st not the 2019 1st. I’m assuming they will be able to compete at a high level with this roster.

so we pick up one of the worst goalies in the league, lose a top 15 C for a winger who has been struggling, trade a good LHD prospect + a good 3C + a 1st for a 2C, and then make a super weird sideways move with arizona. very very bad.

Kuzy results in more goals against than he does goals for. He’s one of the laziest players I’ve seen. I’m serious he how’s 0 defense ability and he turns the puck over way too much for my liking. He’s a center you need to know how to play defense.

Kadri is a 30+ goal guy and worth trading a c+ b- prospect at a position we are loaded in

Hammer is underrated and Fisher is better than bura. It’s quietly a better move for the caps

I’d say it pretty lateral.

You're taking one of the best center depths in the league to one of the worst.
And why trade Bowey? Wouldn't he be a young RHD to replace Niskanen at some point?

That's an interesting take considering he's +58 for his career and +2 this season (last night didn't help). You must have amnesia, because he was arguably the best player in the playoffs, where I dunno, the Caps might have won the Cup.

Thanks for playing, though.

I doubt the Caps miss the playoffs, technically they are still tied for 1st place (points wise).

However, Kuzy has been quite poor for awhile now. He doesn't seem to be fully engaged most games and his passing has been poor. Really everything has been poor from him recently, including his shot selection. He had a nice one timer the other game, but beyond that, there's not much positives to talk about from him recently.

His zone entries are sloppy and easily checked resulting in turnovers constantly. His passing is often to no one in particular (like that pass to Ovi from the middle of the ice a game or 2 ago, except Ovi was no where near where he passed it anymore) and his FO% is god awful bad and has regressed (39.5%). He's not looking like a center right now given his FO% and poor zone entries.

I'm not really sure what's wrong with him, but it seems like a lack of effort and passion on his part. Elite players shouldn't constantly need something to play for, the greats play and play with passion because they love the game and they find the passion within themselves to step up their level of play when needed. They don't need an outside source to do it. The Caps really need him to start turning it around and playing much better and they need it soon.

I'm not against dropping him to the third line for awhile to see if it sparks a wake up call for him. Reunite 8-19-43 and also the 23-26-72 4th line, please.

Bowey looks like a life time 3rd pairing guy more than a top 4

Plus minus is for idiots. What’s the difference between his giveaways and takeaways. Kessel won the penguins a cup and he’s constan trade bait. Thanks for trying

I can’t agree more. He’s so lazy and has this semin like switch where he can go from elite to average over night.

Caps fans will praise him and ignore his lack of effort bc he had a great playoffs but in reality the previous 2 season we lost bc he was a no show.

You quite literally said that he was on the ice for more goals against than goals for, which is literally what +/- measures.

I said he results in more goals again than goals for. You’re assuming him being on the ice is the result of the plus. That’s why it’s important to fully understand a point before responding. And why plus minus is for idiots

And you're assuming him being on the ice is the result of the minus. What kind of point is that? And considering he's still just under a PPG, then there's a pretty good chance that he's a part of the reason why he's getting a "plus".

P.S., I don't like plus minus either, but your point sucks because you're relying on nothing but anecdotal evidence with nothing to back that up. And, giveaways vs. takeaways for a playmaking, offensively-minded center is a stupid metric.

He has a lot of giveaways and is terrible in the defensive zone. But like you said offensive minded but dude can’t even win face offs

Yeah, dude is not having a good year at the dot.

Can he play better? Definitely. Is he disposable? Nope.
