Caps aren't interested in Hudon. Burakovsky is younger and has nearly 100 more points in his career.

Kings accept. Good trade for both teams. Well done.

I think that is fair for Bura. My guess is Caps will look for more tho. They might find a sucker, aka Chiarelli.

Probably because he’s played 5 years to Hudons 1. They are both 30 point forwards. Bura sucks and they want to move him. He isn’t worth more than this. They might find someone to give them more. But he is not worth it.

Montreal say no to both trades. Too much future is given up.

I'd rather wait to see if Bura comes back to form than trade him for that package.

You might, but does Caps management? Bura’s highest value was the day he was drafted, he’s gone downhill ever since. He’s a defensively challenged 3rd line 35 point forward. His trade value the last 3 years tops out as a 2nd. It’s time to cut bait, he needs a change, so does the team.

Then you just non-tender him this off-season. Unless you're moving his contract to upgrade another piece of the roster, you might as well see if he can have an impact in the playoffs again.

So you let him walk for nothing rather than take a 3rd a depth piece? Ok.

Caps have bottom-six depth. We have 8 guys on the active roster that can slot into the bottom six: Eller, Connolly, Burakovsky, Boyd, Jaskin, DSP, Dowd, and Stephenson. The question is, is Hudon adding value, or are you just getting a guy to get "something" for a guy you could possibly re-sign as an UFA for a lesser cost than if you tender him at $3.25M?

I disagree. No first round pick or blue chip prospects are traded. a 2nd and Juulsen are expandable.

I believe it follows Bergy philosophy.

But again, I'm just a dude on internet with a Bergevin picture for avatar wink

Juulsen + a 2nd are both key pieces for our future. I guess we think differently when it comes to that. Hopefully Bergevin doesn't do anything stupid and hold onto our future pieces.

Juulsen can leave MTL. Keys for the future are Suzuki, Poehling, Brook, Primeau, Kotkaniemi, Mete and Romanov ... and maybe Lindgren.

Bergy gives two 2nd round pick for Shaw. I think He can move this ...

Bergy gave 2 2nds like 3 years ago, at the draft, when he still considered us winning now. He has since changed that stance and is focusing on the future.
