Sandin is already better defensively than Vatanen ever was! God no.. Sandin is not being moved anytime. I would not want Vatanen in first place. Someone like Manson would be the target if I was GM. Some tough policeman that eats minutes.

So who does Vatanen replace on Leafs that makes the Leafs much better. Vatanen isn't a difference maker.

Vatanen would be a good add to the backend of any team at under $2.5m.

But I don’t think his style fills what the leafs are lacking tho to justify the assets being traded away

The amount of players that fill criterias top 4, RD, tough to play against, etc. is too narrow. Teams are rarely looking to trade good defensemen with term AND retain salary. The price SHOULD be high.

That’s fair. And if you think Vatanen is the guy that helps push this d-core forward...who am I to tell you your opinion is wrong? Could turn out to be a great move.

All I have is my own opinion which would prefer those assets get moved for a better d-man...or if one wasn’t available...lesser assets used for stay at home depth.

But differing opinions is what makes this site go ‘round.
