OK. That's the bet on this one. He would add some "edge" and at 4.5, it would take pressure off him.
We also get RHD, experienced back up and Prospect RW with size.

Cap wise it's about even for next year. But really it's bad for the Leafs. Only one real NHLer Larsson in exchange for two....Johnsson and Nylander. Leafs are looking long term for Sparks, don't need a UFA goalie and start the search next year for another goalie.

In my opinion, Puljujarvi has great upside with the size we miss on our prospect pool and Lucic is still a NHLer (maybe at half the salary he makes today). Talbot brings immediate upgrade and could re-sign for less. Maybe I am wrong but it brings a bit of relief cap wise.

There is no way they (or anyone for that matter) will take on Lucic's deal - even at $4.5. Puljujarvi can barely crack Edmonton's lineup and they are thin on the wing. I don't see a team taking Lucic at a 50% retention by EDM - He cant keep up anymore.
