THat's a lot for Duchene. Anyway, i think it's more likely he signs at this point. I think they sign one of Stone and Duchene and trade the other.

Since Ottawa management isn't smart enough to come up with this idea, Duchene should take it to them.

Trade him to Winnipeg (they can't resign him next year) they get assets, then Duchene(knowing he's going to resign in Ottawa) returns to a better team and gets a cup run out of it.

The Duchene trade would have to come with an extension. No way Jarmo gives up that for a rental.

I agree. I think these trade ideas are actually quite interesting but any team buying either player will want to negotiate an extension first which of course increases their value. Based on that, I think Ottawa could get more on a sign and trade for both players. I don’t think it’s a ton more, but it’s definitely more. I’m not sure if Nashville has room for Stone, maybe they send some tradeable roster player going back or change the 3rd to a 1st. Just my opinion, but I think they’re worth more

Gawd I hope the Jets don't rent Duchene, he's gonna cost a small fortune in assets that I just don't think will be worth it.
I think Ottawa should trade Duchene for as many young prospects and picks they can get and keep stocking the prospect pool, an 8 year contract will probably be pretty painful in the last few years of it. If they could get him on a 6 year deal that'd be the max I'd want to sign him for.

the first 3 horrible trades, not enough for Stone, a 3C, no name prospect and 1st not enough for a 1C in his prime, OTT laughs at the EDM then refuses it because its so bad

the only value here is the first, Wennberg is a 3C and the prospects is a no name.
