I think you'd have a better chance going after Faulk or Hamilton

Thought Hamilton would have more trade value ... what would you change coming back ??

Hamilton does have more trade value, you are correct. If you did the current deal for Faulk, you might have to add a 3rd.
I think Carolina would want a first, Virtanen and Goldobin/Granlund for Dougie

I don’t see VAN and CAR as very good trade partners IMO. Carolina looking for proven scoring top 6 wingers, but I don’t see a lot of tradable assets that the Canucks would be willing to part with. The only fit is selling Ferland as a pure rental for pick/prospect.

Virtanen, Goldobin are unproven (long term) scoring players
Granlund isn’t a great fit in Carolina (terrible FO, not a great playmaker, good defensive player who we have enough of)

I could see Baertschi as a fit, but are the Canucks going to move him? Doubt it.

You are probably undervaluing Stecher in the original deal ... he's a good 4th/5th D and this season is +14 on an team that is -14 overall

VAN's 1st is off the table this season ... Draft is being held there ... if Virtanen was added instead of Goldobin or Granlund I think the Canes would jump at it

Admittedly I do not know much about Stecher, so thank you for that. I figured their 1st is off the table. Virtanen is a STUD.

They’’d still decline it quickly. A premium RHD is going to take more than a couple of average middle sixers and a low end rd that they don’t need.

I'll move Baertschi instead of Virtanen....
2nd round pick+Baertschi+Goldobin for Hamilton and 4th?

@Gofnut999 hit it on the head - I’m in the minority I guess, but I don’t see a deal for Hamilton happening. Canes would move him but the return they would want would make it unrealistical. IMO, Faulk or TVR are the RHDs most likely to be moved.

If they are moving Hamilton it’s for an RNH, Nylander type of player not complimentary pieces.
