Description
In getting Tanev, you're getting a guy who would likely play as a 4/5 defensemen on this team this year, but a cheaper Myers for next year as well. I do see Tanev being worth a 1st + and the addition of Granlund for Copp just puts some more offence into the bottom six, and a guy that can play up and down the lineup, any F position, as well as a PP (yes I know probably not on this team but still can) and a valuable PK guy as well. Tanev might not be as good as Muzzin, but a RD is a valuable asset and a trade like this could really solidify WPG and get them over the hump.

Really the only issue I see this being, is if replacing Granlund for Copp, you're also losing a 57% face-off guy in exchange for a 47% face-off guy. The Jets have some real good face-off guys so come playoff time, a guy like Granlund may not be fully dependable.

Brassard also has a sub 50% face-off record which is why I could see a guy like Granlund be of more value than Brassard (minus the playoff pedigree however).

WPG in a good spot though I feel like if they trade off their 1t round pick again this year. They have the makings of a scary team.

The Jets would have four top 4 defenseman, seems excessive no? lol
I don't think this is a good idea for the Jets. I like the thought of acquiring Granlund but what's a guy like him worth on his own in a trade?

That makes much more sense (sorry if I made you or myself sound dumb).

In the description, the guy who made this team made it while taking into consideration that myers will walk and tanev will be a much cheaper fit with only a minor downgrade in talent.

That being said, I still do not think the jets should trade for tanev. Probably look at the less expensive options like TVR. Hey maybe even tucker poolman

Yeah and I understood the thinking of having a RHD to replace Myers next season but Poolman has to play in the NHL next season you'd think and all I ever here about is how the Jets need a LHD (personally I don't think they do) so seeing a trade for another RHD seemed strange.. Lol

Really don't know cause I have no clue what's gonna happen with Trouba, Myers, Morrow and Chairot and if they're gonna keep Kulikov or try to move him for cap space.
I do think Niku has a spot for sure next season and Stanley is the first call up from the Moose. I hope they don't try to keep depth guys like Chairot, he's really grown into a decent defenseman but paying too much to depth guys is one way that gets teams into cap trouble.

So morrow gets resigned. Kulikov is too expensive to keep if we resign Trouba however

Yeah but I really don't think Trouba is signing but guess we'll see what happens with that, I'll be glad when it's done one way or another.

If he is traded, chevy will get us good pieces back. If he stays long term, even better!
