I don’t think you’re allowed to trade the OTT 1st

As a ranger fan i like it tbh that is if it ends up a bottom 3 pick otherwise nyr would be losing on the deal, also this trades makes colorado a legitmate threat and potentionally cup favorites.

I am too a ranger fan so i may be biased but if the pick is not a bottom three the rangers get screwed big time, although there could potentially be a condition that if the pick is not a top 3 then the rangers get some sort of compensation from colorado. whether that be a 1st round pick of this year or next or a prospect of some sort i think at minimum it should be a second round pick as compensation.

Kreider & Hayes will give you at best the COL 1st and Bowers + maybe a cond. 3rd rounder if Hayes is re-sing. That's it. You want the OTT 1st instead? You have to add your 2 best prospects: Andersson and Kravtsov. It's simple, OTT 1st is not on the market. If you want it, it's a CRAZY price that you have to pay.

Hayes at $6,5M/year is way too much. Turbo Teravainen just signed for $5,4M with CAR and I take Turbo on my team 100 times before taking Hayes... I would say $5,25M not much. don't re-sign Varlamov ($7,125M !!!! NOOOOO) and Ghetto. Trade them at the deadline for assets.

I can tell by the lines and signings that you dont know much about the Avs depth chart.

That pick is off the table, especially for a pending UFA and 1 year of Kreider.

Honestly nothing on the Rangers interests me as an Avs fan at all via trade (EDIT: except Zibanejad but we would have to overpay to get him so no thanks). Not sure why there are so many NYR fans suggesting trades in which COL picks up a rental for future assets. COL is happy to stay the course and keep their picks and prospects
