Call Ups and lines

Description
O'Regan-Olafsson-Asplund has been one of the best lines in the AHL. O'Regan and Olafsson have snipping abilities.

O'Regan is the Amerks leading goal scorer, and CJ Smith is second. Smith is always mentioned in callup options, O'Regan should be mentioned more as the Amerks leading goal scorer

Lines-

Eichel-Skinner with Thompson.

I have taken Reinhart off the top line and placed him with Mittelstadt and the power forward Panik over E-Rod in an attempt to use Reinhart to get the second line going. Panik and Reinhart are also both strong possession players and instantly gives Mittelstadt a significantly stronger duo of wingers than what he has had all year, and both are defensively responsible.

I am using E-Rod as third line center and his former BU linemate O'Regan on the RW with CJ Smith.

Girgensons-Larsson-Sobotka as the grinding defensive 4th line.

If Scandella or Beaulieu is traded, then Guhle should be the next man up

On the Powerplay, Thompson is used as the 4th F

I get what you're doing, but what's the plan with Okposo?

I sent him through waivers to the AHL. I had to in order to call the second forward up. I don’t think there are any other players that will clear waivers. Even Scandella could possibly be claimed for a team looking for a veteran defenseman for the playoff. Casey Nelson would be too valuable to send down because he’s my only other Right shot defenseman outside of Bogo and Risto with a very affordable contract

Pominville is the other option. think they would ever waive Pominville for a variety of reasons. Respect, but his presence in the locker room as well. Otherwise he’d be the first option.

But Okposo being down is just for a couple or a few games to see how O’Regan and Smith do to spark the team.

What about Sheary for Panik straightup?

The only thing is Sheary has one year left and Panik is a rental, although he’s a rental I’d be interested in extending. Panik is also much better defensively than Sheary although Sheary can be a offensive producer if playing with the right center. That’s why I moved him in a separate deal.

If we send Hunwick to Rochester, we lose that third round pick you sent to Arizona for Pánik. I also think we should keep Okposo up and not trade Sheary, they both may be slightly underperforming but have good underlying numbers and could break their scoring funks at any moment. Move Pommers instead of sheary

Yeah I get what you're saying.

My major concern and the reason why I moved out Sheary and brought in Panik is that, first, with Sheary, I asctually agree with you. He's a good offensive winger who can produce with the right center and linemates. The only thing I don't like about him is his defensive play and lack of a two-way game. I think he's great if you are going to use him on the top line and actually that's where id like to see him here, on the top line RW with Eichel and Skinner. He produced 50+ points from the RW in Pittsburgh, but for some reason, Housley has no intention of ever using him with Eichel, or trying him on the top line on the right side, or using Reinhart to get one of the other lines going. I agree with you on Sheary. but I don't think Housley ever going to use him as more than a sheltered middle six winger.

The other concern I have is that we don't have line that we can put out there against opposing team's top scoring lines. We have that shut down line, or a line with a two-way conscience in the middle six. This is part of the reason why Mittelstadt can't play more minutes. He's still developing this aspect of his game. The thinking here was put Reinhart on the second line and use him as a catalyst to get the second line going, and bring in Panik and use him on line 2 with Reinhart and then depending on the situation, use Rodrigues, or Mittelstadt there.... panik and Reinhart are two very strong possession players and would help cover up for any deficiencies in his own end Mitts has, and E-Rod can also work in during more defensive situations or against tougher matchups.
