Excuse me.. I don't mean to cut in through the nimrods who regularly troll here.
You have a solid offer on the table, that does seem to need each side to offer one more thing. In this case, it's in Hayes accepting a contract extension with Boston; as well, that second player going to Boston being EITHER Pionk or DeAngelo. Likely, a third player to include would be Vesey.
The issue, REALLY, is in taking David Backes' contract in return. This is NOT a small contract.. the short-sighted among you SHOULD take this into account. Three years at $6 million dollars per is not chump change. Especially since Backes is 33, and not getting younger.
The sad fact that anyone can undersell the growth and development of Kevin Hayes, by declaring he is not worth a return including Charlie McAvoy is the blatant show ignorance that exists in the trolling of those on this site.
That said, consider including Jimmy Vesey and Neal Pionk to your deal to even out the ask.
Furthermore, since the Bruins have roughly $4+million dollars in cap space, IF you can rework the Bruins' lineup post-trade, trading Backes may not be necessary to get this done.
