Seems like a bit much for a cap dump. Chicago got more back for Hossa and gave up a lot less

You're probably right. All the same, as long as we get our top 6 and top 4 signed, and hold on to Lowry, Niku, Roslovic, Vesa, and the 2021 1st, I'm good with giving up literally anything to get that done. Having a core with that talent is enough of a reward. The big point of this post was to show that all this fuss about the jets in cap hell is pretty nonsensical. As long as we're not prioritizing bottom 6 players or 3rd pairing dmen, the Jets are going to be just fine.

Hey, do what you gotta do. Personally, I think Laine will get a really expensive bridge deal, so I don't think you'll have to worry about cap hell this offseason. But you could probably move Perreault and Kulikov and actually get something back, but I don't know much about the Jets, so maybe I'm complete wrong

I truly hope not. Laine going cold in his contract year has the potential to be the luckiest thing that could have happened. Hopefully he picks back up in the playoffs, but with this configuration of the team you could bump Laine's long-term deal up as high as 9.5M. Given how much the cap is going to inflate over the next few years, signing Laine long-term ASAP could turn out to be a huge steal. If Chevy can make a long term deal for Laine, he should make a long term deal for Laine, and I think Laine's camp would and should be happy with anything around 9M.

I would love a 8x9.25 and build around, I just hope they find the right number for Connor and roslovic on a couple steals, I’m really excited about roslovic turning into scheifele 2.0

I don't think Rosy will be a center.....When he centered the 4th line, it didn't do much....This is one problem the Jets have right now.

Maybe, but he's the best shot the Jets have at a young center. Keep in mind that Lowry started out as a winger as well. I think Jack, the Jets and all parties involved in his development should want him to be a center. Putting him on a line with Wheeler just helps since Wheeler is essentially a center in all things except face-offs and where he lines up on face-offs.
Jetman liked this.
