Kesler is NOT a simple cap dump! We would be on the hook for 4.6 million for the next 6 years (if bought out).... that's a huge crutch!

Not how it works, it would be 2.45m for the next 6 years, and i wouldnt buy him out intially. First move waive him, see if you cant bury him in the minors. And he may even be a good option for 4th line center as a mentor for younger guys. Alot of the centers are young on this team.
After 2 or 3 years when the team is in need of cap space to give out some lucrative contracts then you could buy him out.

Honestly, Kesler is probably gonna go on LTIR pretty soon, so I don't expect the retooling Ducks to try and give up young assets to get rid of cap that will probably be buried in injured reserve.
