Description

Leafs fans. Please make sure to include performance bonuses on your teams for next year. It's arguable who will reach those bonuses, but I'm faily certain Marner will get all $850K and Matthews might even get all $2.8M if he goes on a scoring streak. Just keep this in mind.

I've signed ZERO players...and there's $12.6M in cap.

If I'm mistake, please correct me. I'm open for all discussion.

Performance bonuses are covered by this year cap chief. All they need to do is keep $3.75M in cap space this year and that covers the cap. Which they have already. They'll be fine.

Ya the leafs are nearly 4.5M under the cap I don't think there'll be any carry over into next season, safe to assume you don't need to include any overages on next year's cap.

ok ok, I'll get off my soap box. i just hear that TOR's not finished and yet there are no overages on any of these teams.

That's almost the exact opposite. I keep hearing they're unlikely to do anymore unless they can move money out prior to.

If you want....get up on that soapbox whenever you see Toronto ACGM teams showing us putting Horton on LTIR and going right up to the cap to make additions at the TDL.

Only way we can pay performance bonuses this year is if we:
a) don't put Horton on LTIR; and
b) leave $3.7m in cap space

That's certainly the case now. It's only been a few hours since Matthews was extended...which of course changes things.

Not really considering he was always going to be extended and I was seeing all of this before today and almost immediately after the Muzzin trade. They always planned on making sure they had no overages leak into next season thats why they've kept that massive buffer to cover the Horton contract and any performance bonuses.

and if Marner 9M they are at 80.9M with 16 players under contract because Horton has to be on the opening training camp roster before he goes on LTIR who gets traded Marleau Kadri Nylander Muzzin Zaitsev or Rielly

Horton technically doesnt HAVE to be, but it makes life very difficult during the season for any trades what so ever. But yeah you're right.
