Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
NSH
  1. McQuaid, Adam ($1,250,000 retained)
  2. Zuccarello, Mats
Additional Details:
The Press get a great playmaking top 6 wing whose put up points and has experience as a great playoff performer, they also get a bottom pairing d-man who also has playoff pedigree in McQuaid.

Just an observation.... That would be last years 1st, This years 2nd, and next years 1st for 2/3rds of your 4th line and your 6th/7th dman.

I love McQuaid as a player (B's fan), but he isn't someone you want to see a lot of in the playoffs. Pairing with Hamhuis could get ugly.

I am also not a fan of Zuccarello - He has not been very good in the playoffs...*** EDIT - Regular season .69 PPG career - .52ppg career playoffs.

Rick Nash is considered someone who didn't perform in the playoffs very well at all - His career playoff PPG - .52PPG (.76 ppg regular)

Zuc is a .5 PPG player in the playoffs on Rangers teams that weren't always very good at scoring and is responsible defensively. Put him on a team with skilled players like Forsberg, Arvidsson, etc. and i could see him being a good secondary contributor for a team that is looking for that kind of depth

menh... not worth the risk in my opinion. Not for another 1st rd pick. Why did they trade for Hartman? I just don't like the player, but I found the narrative that Nash is an awful playoff performer odd since the comment said Zuccarello "a great playmaking top 6 wing whose put up points and has experience as a great playoff performer". Obviously Nash's career was/is longer, but their numbers PPG are strikingly similar.

Just cuz trading a 1st for Hartman was stupid does not mean that it would be dumb for Zuc who is a top 6 winger and I believe pairing him with Forsberg and Johansen could be extremely deadly.
