Real bad for Wings. Green would command a 1st+ with how he's playing and having another year left. While Kap may have a little more value than that, the Wings aren't throwing in a borderline late 1st + mid-late 2nd + Glendening to make up that difference and take on Zaitsev's risky deal. I'd do Green 50% retained for Kap straight up, or your 2020 1st + Bracco, but the rest is no good.

Detroit is rebuilding and draft picks are just to important especially 2 2nd rd picks. I just can't see a situation where they would trade away 2 2nd rd picks.

Zaitsev contract is too much money for way too long. Kapanen has potential to be really good but it just isn't enough to off set Zaitsev contract. The you add Glendening who I do think his best fit is back with Babcock in Toronto. Mike Green isn't young anymore but he is leading Detroit's D in points and has led Detroit's D in scoring every season he's been here. Last season he only approved 2 teams that he'd waive for TB and Wash. I've looked all over and find anything on his NTC. I have to guess he would waive to go to Toronto.

I think there could be a trade involving these players but as it is now it really doesn't benefit Detroit at all. Thats just my opinion

Doesn't help the Leafs cap next year which is the real purpose of trading Zaitsev especially if partnered with Kapanen in a trade.

Detroit doesn't want Zaitsev. Detroit wants whatever it is you've been smoking.
