Avs will be passing. If this was 2 months ago and an extended Hayes they would...but they have been terrible for 2 months now so they are not moving their 1st round pick.

Decent moves. Imo COL and CGY trades are slight overpayments, and DAL simply does not need Shattenkirk - or his massive contract to be precise.

If it was an extended Hayes and based on how things are going...swapped to 2020. Then maybe. They wont be getting the 2019 pick if he is a pure rental.

Yes. It's rumored that NYR wants a 1st, a top prospect and a prospect for Hayes. Imo they'd be lucky if they get even 2/3 of those.

If they value him that highly, maybe they should be just re-signing him.

Yeah Rumoured they want that, and I think it was Friedman or Le Brun who said recently that if they can get a 1st and a prospect for him that the Rangers would be ecstatic....Meaning that they arent getting those offers for him as Rental.

What they want and what they will have to settle on might not align

Andrighetto is just a RFA throw in that seems to fit in well next season with NYR and conversely has no place at all next season in COL lineup. Basically it's a late 1st round draft pick and a B+plus prospect (Bowers) who's certainly not an A-prospect.

If Andrighetto were not included, it would certainly not hold up the deal. He's just a player COL no longer has a use for and is thrown in because NYR is one of only a few teams in a situation where he'd be in any way a useful player.

COL ain't quitting yet! Everyone in the West isn't very good. If NYR were in the west they'd be making moves at the TDL to go on a cup run instead of rebuilding! COL is keeping an open mind when it comes to trading their 1st round pick(s)...

When Sakic refers to "high picks", he's referring to lottery picks... He's not referring to 1st round picks that are closer to being 2nd round picks. The draft pick in said proposal is not what Sakic is referring to as "high picks".

Also when Sakic said in said Feb 5th interview that he was not trading his high prospects, he was referring to the prospects rated much higher than Bowers' talents. Again, Bowers was drafted much closer to the 2nd round than he was the lottery.

Or maybe Sakic was just fed up already with how things are completely all around him where ever he goes in COL that he finally said, "I can't trade my HIGH picks and prospects because if I do... None of them will have any hope of fitting in or understanding the natives of Colorado!

A top prospect is worth much more value than a prospect like Bowers and late 1st round pick COMBINED. Not 2/3's in the opposite direction your suggesting. When you graduate fifth grade in the USA or in COL graduate high school, you'll know how to better calculate fractions. Until then I would try to avoid being technical around those outside of COL!

As the other Avs fans said, that trade isnt happening. Middle round pick alone is worth more than Hayes. Winnipeg would be a better target.

TOR is eh, they could maybe use Mcquaid but they arent paying a third for him maybe a fifth/sixth. They dont need tokarski cuz they have Sparks and Hutchinson is in the ahl.
Fast is underrated so NSH might pay that price.
CHI trade is the second biggest oof in this post, Vlad is a supporting player that has struggled...You could probably squeeze a third out of a more serious contending team but to take 2 good prospects from a retooling team? Nah
