Are you seriously trading the Ducks' best defenseman (who is signed long term at a great deal) for a second line winger and a bust who will probably never make the NHL full time? Come on.

The Silfverberg trade is good though!

I heard about the rumor with Montreal. At this time, I would be hesitant but I'm not entirely against it. The Ducks have Mahura in the pipeline, who is a very good offensive-defenseman that could replace Fowler in the future. I don't really see any of our prospects being defensively sound enough to replace Lindholm, which is why I am so against trading him, but Fowler was never the best in his own end, so I wouldn't mind trying out Mahura in a larger playmaking role, since the Ducks wouldn't be making too much of a defensive sacrifice. It's risky, but worst case, Montour and Lindholm have both run a power-play before so I think they could manage.

Do you have any ideas of what you would trade for him?

You'd probably get Juulsen, Evans, and a 1st

Depending on the return, yes. The Ducks were playing well without him. He has a modified no trade. So there are teams on his list he would go to. I am assuming Detroit is on there since he is a michigan native.

Silf for a late 1st is standard, but the Lindholm trade is insulting. A #1D for that pile of rubbish. PIT doesn't have the assets to acquire Lindholm and we're not interested in moving him anyway.

I thin Juulsen and a 1st is a good start, but I don't anticipate Evans to aspire to much. Shattenkirk got a 1st, cond. 2nd, and a prospect and he was just a rental. Fowler has 8 years left on his deal, and will probably be good for most of them. I would want at least another late-round 1st, or to swap Evans for a young roster player like Lehkonen. My logic behind this is that while Fowler has his flaws, he has proven to be a 1st line player, and you can't really say that about Juulsen or the 1st, and Lehkonen seems to be struggling to break 30 points.

I would be happier with Juulsen, 1st, 1st or Juulsen, 1st Lehkonen. If it helps, it can be a conditional pick based on player performance (ie. goes down to a 2nd if Lehkonen gets 40+ points or Juulsen plays an average of 20+ minutes in his first Ducks season).
