Description
I've been trying to figure out how and if they Leafs will actually do anything at the trade deadline. Seemingly the Oilers are looking to add and with that in mind I think of Connor Brown...

Now hear me out, most people are going to say why on earth would the Oilers trade for Connor Brown, he is a fourth line player with only 20pts in 57 games this season. However, in Brown's rookie year he scored 20 goals.

Now here is why I believe the Oilers would look at Brown as a possible trade option. McDavid played with Brown in Erie for two seasons, they played on the same line together in the final season before Brown went to the AHL and he accumulated 45 goals, 83 assists for a total of 128 points in 68 games while playing with McDavid. Now imagine they could replicate that same production in the NHL in Edmonton.

Timashov who is currently playing in the AHL with the Marlies would be a prospect addition to the already depleted Oilers farm system. Timashov has played 47 games this year and has produced 31 points this season. There was a possibility for Timashov to crack the Leafs roster if players were injured however with the rise in Moore that has changed things.

The 2020 2nd round pick would entice the Oilers to make the trade complete knowing they'd get a pick next year in the 2nd round.

With Puljujarvi's current value you would likely take something along him for Brown lol

I'd consider it 1 for 1 only if JP is going to extend under $1m...and I'd do it in the offseason..not TDL

I agree, I don't see JP signing to a big contract because he hasn't shown enough or given the opportunity to show what he has. Trading Brown would free up space for the upcoming offseason. I still think Zaitsev could be the odd man out too come the offseason.

Like I said just thoughts going through my mind, I'm quite interested to see what Dubas does in the next week or so.
