Man, I'm a Pens fan, but there's no way to Pearson have a higher value than Dzingel. Even with some term left on his contract. I'd be stunned if Dorion accept that trade. It's pretty bad even for him. As for McQuaid, we should have to offer the 2019 4h pick instead of 2020. A 2019 4th pick and a 2020 7th.

That's why I did Pearson and a 1st for Dzingel and a 2nd. I was going to go Pearson and a 2nd for just Dzingel, but the Pens don't have a 2nd. (Pearson needs to be included for cap reasons)

That misses the plot.. this would only move the Senators up in the draft by like 5-10 spots to take on a bad contract for 2 more years and lose a coveted rental they hope to use toward building a future.

pens don't have a 4th for 2019, the buffalo pick is conditional and they already traded their own pick. As for Dzingel, this trade is swapping a first and second in the deal as well, hence it is putting the value of Dzingel as higher than Pearson.

Pearson and a 1st for Dzingel. That's it. Why? Cause Pearson have a bad contract, as Igor already said.

However, Dorion is a trash GM. So, maybe we could get a 4th or 5th in return as well.

Could flip it to conditional 2nd, the lower of the ones that Ottawa has.

He is on pace for 20 goals as a Penguin, but the Pens can't keep that contract next year with Guentzel going to $6M. (They can, it would just be easier)

You're right. I saw it wrong. Anyway, to me Dzingel has an even higher value than that. As for the pick, that's why I put a 1st in my suggestion.

Play along Malkin and Kessel boost any player stats. Ottawa don't have a duo like that to put Pearson along. I'm not saying he's a bad player. But he's stats are inflated in our team.

To be fair, it's not like Dzingel is blockbuster... Good enough for me to go for, yes. All that and a bag of chips... no.

im not a huge fan of Dzingel, he has more value than Pearson certainly, but by a decent margin not a massive one. Dzingel just fits better because the pens will either have to trade somebody before the deadline or flip in offseason due to cap. The most likely candidate is Pearson who they could probably get a semi decent but not great pick for in offseason.

Not a huge fan of Dzingel either. In fact, I don't think we should trade to get him. To me, Ferland is a better option than him. He can score goals like Dzingel and Ferland is still physical and more complete than him. As for Pearson as a trade candidate, 100% agreed. It's pretty obvious that he'll be Pens first option to be traded in offseason. Probably, before the draft.
