Team: 2018-19 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 21, 2019
Published: Feb. 21, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I'm going to be attacked for this.

McAvoy refused to sign a long term extension with Boston. Everyone has seen the pictures of him and his Rangers bedsheets.

Kreider helps solidify their forward group and Pionk can slide in on the third pairing.

Hmmm. This could work. Just add skjei, Zibanejad, and three first.

What kind of a joke is this?

Boston would never do this trade and he’s just waiting to use this season as leverage. Mcavoy will be in Boston for a long time. Not trying to attack but this will never happen.

Put aside the fact that it’s not happening, you think that would be enough??

he turned down an extension last offseason is not the same as refused to sign an extension.

He is doing smart business, its not diffrent than Matthews, Marner, Rantanen etc...their teams offered them contracts offseason but they are not goign to sign early and leave money on the table until their ELC is done

Not to mention he can’t even be offered an offer sheet, or go to arbitration. He doesn’t really have leverage to force a trade

I don’t See these kind of deals happening during the season. Players like McAvoy usually, if ever, only get traded during the off-season. As a rangers fan, I think picks and prospects are more likely trade targets than NHL players right now IMHO.

the scare of offersheetsis so weird in this league. No one gets offersheeted, Teams cant afford to give up multiple 1st roundsers in a cap world when ELCs are so important.

The point is he isn’t even eligible to sign an offer sheet. He can’t negotiate with other teams. He has little to no leverage other than his superb play

Oh i know, just saying in general. Offersheets dont happena nd arbitration is not a bad thing either. All it does it set a deadline for both team and player
