I'd love Gusev but if he hasn't come to the NHL by now, I doubt he will any time soon. I could be wrong, of course, but that's my two cents. I do like the trades overall.

Staal has Winnipeg on 10 team no trade list but he might fit Montreal as there third line guy behind domi and kotkiniemi. It will certainly help push the Canadians into the playoffs

I agree with you about Gusev. He's a star in the KHL and makes good money there.

Just because he has the list doesn't mean he can't waive it. I'd be happy moving him to the Canadiens if they are willing to pay a 1st or a 2nd + good prospect.

Totally agree with you you he’s a right shot LW obviously since Kaprizov is coming soon he can play RW but bringing in Gusev would help make Kaprizov arrival more comfortable

Honestly, I'm not sure acquiring Gusev is such a good idea if we want Kaprizov to come over. Gusev seems pretty content with staying in Russia, and I don't want Kaprizov to get any ideas, lol.

Not incredible sources, but at least the idea is floating out there. Also, if you're a Russian and dominating the KHL, why wouldn't you want to come over after seeing Kucherov/Panarin/Kuznetsov being elite players in the league

Interesting. I'd be ecstatic if we brought him along with Kaprizov over seas.

I don't think KK will be an issue. If he wins the KHL Cup he'll have done everything there is to to there. He already has an Olympic gold and lead the league in goals. The NHL is the next challenge for him, and I think he has former coaches pushing to take that challenge.

I was more joking. I'm not worried about him, but acquiring a guy that seems to have his heart set on staying in Russia might not be the greatest influence for Kaprizov.

Five stars. Nice thinking, including the fact that the proposal is provocative and engenders discussion.

I'm all-in on acquiring Gusev! I can envision he and Zaprizov both on their off wings having a ton of chemistry together! It's a risk worth taking, IMO. I like Collin Miller too. I think this trade would allow the Wild to move Spurgeon (which I think they would be stupid not to) this summer (or TDL) and acquire even more pieces for the future/present.
