I don't think you guys should resign Duchene if Bob is not coming back. It seems like the OTT 1st round pick to COL for Duchene all over again. Albeit, in another Duchene trade

Really? Didn't expect teams to give up that high of picks. I assume Florida would pay a 2nd or 3rd for one or both in that case

Bob is and has been gone. Signing Duchene is not dependent on the goaltending situation. Team isn't gonna turn into Ottawa if they don't have a 1st. Good prospects in the pipeline. Really good Goalie prospects, it'll be ok

Okay. I was just worried that Columbus does not have good enough goaltending without bob. They have a good D-core too so they should be fine

Pretty sure that was for his rights coming out of school which is different scenario. There, the Rangers signed him to a 3yr entry level deal. For a player who's about to sign more millions and millions, something like a 4th rounder is reasonable

FLA couldn’t sign him to an 8th year unless they acquired him before the trade deadline. Negotiating rights yes, but an 8th year is now only possible in Columbus

Most teams would still take that chance to spend a 3rd or 4th to open discussions a few days before other teams can, especially for talent like Bob and Bread.
It would be cool if CBJ goes far in playoffs, both enjoy the ride, and have a change of heart.
CBJ then trades their rights to the highest bidder for a couple picks and they still decide to sign back with the Union Blue on 7/1.

They have 2-3 great prospect (G) playing in Europe now. As noted above, they most likely will come over next year. However, very rarely does a goaltender come over and break into an NHL lineup from day one, and especially starting. It takes at least a couple years for a goaltender to develop the game, especially with the speed and smaller rink size over here. Best bet would be to sign Kincaid or another value G for a year or two to see where the young guys are and to not put any pressure on them if they are not ready. That would set a goaltender back even further than it would for a skating player.
And if my scenario plays out where Bread & Bob reconsider, Jackets could sign Kincaid too and trade Korpi to highest bidder/offer.
