Honestly feel like this team is disaster right now. Wouldn't be surprised if we miss out on the playoffs. If thats the case I assume big moves and as well as changes in management will happen this offseason. Can't be wasting Sid,Geno & Letang best years like this.

if you were a pens fan you'd know how badly Fleury has screwed us over in previous years. it would've been nice if we could've traded Fleury for a good haul but that's not the issue. the issue is GMJR obsession with terrible overpaid D

2) Murray won 2 cups and was clearly the better goalie or at least seemed to be better. Still is imo. His dad died and the defense besides letang and dumo is pretty bad. Excuses ....but maf after winning the cup had been very disappointing and the team wouldn’t have won with him over Murray imo.

That being said fluery in Vegas wasn’t the same guy he was the previous 5 years in Pittsburgh. Sucks he had to go bc the city loved him

yeah I agree 100%. im not gonna be hard on Murray. GMJR is paying 7.25 for the next 3 seasons for two of the worst D in the NHL. that money could be spent on a legitimate elite player lmao

More in the forward group. Sabres d is very full, theyd have to move Scandella out. They have Hunwick back there too

fleury is the better goalie right now, and was actually slightly better than Murray in the second cup run(they were both great, I would have voted for them for the Conn Smythe). In 2016 I think pens would have won regardless of who the goalie was, the skates on the ice around them was that dominant.

The choice of Murray over Fleury was for two key pros, Murray was younger, and cheaper cap wise. That seemed to outweigh the cons. I still think it was foolish to give vegas a second, that is one of the dumbest moves of the GMJR era(right behind signing some not so good defenseman for bloated deals). Even with his struggles the past couple seasons, Murray is still younger and cheaper so the same positives are still there.

I liked the inital gamble for Pearson. He was a slumping player and I’m surprised he couldn’t find his scoring touch in pit. I’m 100% okay with trades like that.
Same with the bjustaad Trade. He got two good top 9 guys for a pending UFA. Looking back at that trade, all FLA got for both Bjugstad and McCann was: a 2nd, 3rd, two fourths, and Sheehan. I think rutherford did good there. If they want the cap space they can easily trade Bjugstad in the offseason

The Johnson signing and second Pearson trade however, are two of the dumbest moves I’ve seen in a long time for this franchise. You’d think he would learn after moving scuderi for decent puck mover at the time Trevor Daley. Where is that Jim Rutherford??? Or the Jim Rutherford that stole Bonino for sutter. He should’ve retired on top of the world after his 2017 cup, took an executive/ advisor position, and let botterell run the team
