I can't see Sens picking up that contract unless they need to reach the cap ceiling. Not sure on the Kadri deal, but the D definitely need and get an upgrade with Pesce. I love the Brandon Tanev signing. If Mark Stone is really getting a $9.5 million max term deal, I don't think Marner's next contract surpasses that.

Canes are a good landing spot for Kadri, however, we would rather give up Faulk or TvR +

I love this except a couple things, I’m not big on Benning (still move brown to EDM for a pick tho) I’d let Borgman and Liljegren fight for that last spot and split his salary between kappy and Johnsson for a bit more term, also probably have to throw in a pick in Kadri trade to bridge the age gap, I would guess a 3rd? But I’d be ok with even giving up a 2nd. Other than that though I love this ACGM good job

Obviously no guarantee Sens take Zaitsev, but they will need to add players making higher salaries in order to hit the floor. Yes Zaitsev is overpaid, but he'd likely be Sens 3rd or 4th best dman next year, and getting a guy that can handle 20 min a night for a mid round pick should be a bit appealing to them.

I've thought about the Marner contract for years, still have no idea what to expect, this was my best guess based on Matthews contract (as we know Marner's agent will be using it as a comparison).

If you guys can't afford to keep him, I will be very disappointed if Leafs don't try hard to scoop him up! Toronto kid, great wheels, can put up some points, and likes to throw the body around.

Checks a lot of boxes for the Leafs.

Would Kadri plus move the needle on Pesce?

TVR would be a backup plan, and I doubt he's the main piece coming back for Kadri.

Faulk would be possible. I'd be pretty confident Canes/Leafs will keep talking this spring.

Yeah, I actually had him in the lineup prior to reading about Edm/Tor trade discussions that took place.

Time to take Hainsey away from Babcock, I'm thinking Dubas would make this a priority before next season.

Yeah. Benning is there so hainsey doesn't get brought back. As we all know Babcock likes his guys on their strong sides, but I wouldn't mind giving Borgman a shot in that spot, or at least keep the seat warm for Liljegren.

Hard to guage value in the Kadri deal, as both pieces (solid 2C with good contract, solid RD with good contract) are both valued very highly these days. Make sense to add pick to bridge the age gap.

Well hopefully Hainsey retires or something, so there is no Babs/Dubas scrap this summer.

I think that’s the only way if he retires or if he asked for to much but I don’t think he will.

Same could be said about Rosen (who's older), but I think it's pretty safe to say Rosen is pencilled in for spot next year.

2 or 3 spots opening up on the blueline next year. Makes sense to let Borgman play decent minutes on the Marlies instead of sitting in the press box to start the year like Marincin or Holl. I don't see him being on the Marlies as any indication of how Babcock or Leafs feel about Borgman.

As they say, everyone has a price, so I am sure an offer can be made that the Canes can't say no to for Pesce. I just see him being part of our top 4 for a while.
I know Faulk is a UFA next season so I am sure he will be the one that will be moved to make room for Fox.

He was up and sent down Rosen was sent down for more time. I’m going with Rielly Hans Muzzin Dermott Zaitsev Rosen or Holl next year. Unless kap or Johnsson ask for to much then that will change things

Faulk only having one year of control left, likely counts him out of the running in Kadri trade talks. That would lead Muzzin and Faulk to become UFAs at the same time, which is not ideal.

IMO it would be Pesce or bust.

Once Fox graduates that would give Canes 5 NHL calibre RHD, I'm thinking they'll be popular around the draft.

Borgman was up last year then sent down. He spent the entire year with the Marlies this season.

That may be how the dcore looks next year. I'm not that big into analytics, but I'm pretty confident thinking Dubas and his crew likely really don't like how that right side of the dcore struggles moving the puck.

Zaitsev's limited NTC kicks in on July 1st. I would be pretty surprised if Dubas is not trying hard to move him before then.

I agree but I don’t know which team will want him. It will be interesting summer. I just get the feeling Dubus likes the team and will only add without subtracting.

That would make sense from Toronto's end to not go after another UFA defensman

Dubas had his hands tied by the cap at the deadline (and with what is coming this summer). I think Dubas likes a lot of the younger guys, but he inherited this team, he doesn't really owe the vets anything.

IMO we'll see a big move or 2 in the summer. Some $$ needs to be moved out to fit all the RFAs in, and everyone knows where the Leafs are weakest if both Hainsey and Zait are in the lineup.

Toronto has the biggest analytics staff in league, have to think they know better than anyone those deficiencies on the backend. Just can't overhaul the team all within the first 6 months.

I didn’t say they didn’t know what they were doing or were the weakness is I’m saying there no money and Babcock like Hans. The only person that he inherited is Kadri with any value. I don’t know where this big moves are going to come from. The only thing that will change is Johnsson or Kap wanting way to much so he is forced to trade one of them

Well, considering teams don't make multiple moves shuffling around $4M players that often, I would call my proposed lineup here, some fairly large moves for one off-season.

Kadri is one of the best players in the NHL this year why would you want to trade him when you have Holl as a steady right shot D
