This lineup is brutal. Barrie isn't going to be acquired for so little and won't sign for so little (try 5.5m) I thought the Leafs were rebuilding so I don't think Elias or Boyle or Reimer are exactly fitting in their plans.
Why would Vancouver want Bernier when they have two veteran goalies now? Why would any team including Leafs want Laitch and his 4.5m contract?
Quite an assumption that the Leafs can get year long cap relief for Robidas and Lupul. Why would the Leafs want to give up two first rounder for Hedman when he's a UFA in one year. YIKES.

Yup. My only addition to these points would be that Hedman is not leaving Tampa. Period. It would take WAY more than any team is willing to offer to pry him loose.

Barrie is a 2nd pairing 1-way defenseman we can get him on a bargain deal.

Elias and Boyle provide veteran leadership for young players like Marner and Laine. Lou had Elias in new Jersey.

Vancouver wants to get rid of Miller, Bernier is a good replacement.

Lots of teams would take Laich, he is a savvy veteran who can play well defensively and his contract is for one year

Tampa wants to sign Kucherov, Johnson, Killorn and Bishop and they need to get rid of Hedman to do that. We can get him for two 1sts

Where did you get your info. They want Hedman over every player you named there. They can also afford to keep them all except maybe Bishop. You don't get a player at a ridiculous discount just because a team might not be able to afford him (see CHI). 2 first + 2 impact players will get him. Maybe Nylander+gardiner+2 2st. Why would the leafs do this, though?

Why can we get Barrie on a bargain deal? Avs don't have to trade him at all. Not to mention he wants $5m+ and you paid him $3m. I'm thinking you like steve simmons not wayne?

I don't mind some of your strategy...but sorry, but your valuations are way off. I do think the leafs will end up signing a couple vet UFA's that can play in the bottom 6/bottom pairing, but have the pedigree to play up in the lineup for injury purposes. Those players could very well be Elias and Boyle or other similar players, willing to play on a cheap, 1 yr deal. No chance anyone takes on Laich for a 2nd rounder. He sounds like a really solid locker room guy and the leafs are probably best to keep him and play him, hope his stats are decent, and see if there's a team that'll want him at the deadline.

I also think Bernier could fetch as high as a 3rd rounder...just probably not from Vancouver. I could see the leafs trading him to a team like montreal who wants a good backup...but the value coming back would depend on how much of his salary the leafs are willing to eat.

The Barrie and Hedman deals are way, way off tho. I agree with Leafs1967again....Hedman would be Tampa's #1 signing priority over all other players. I don't see any circumstance where they would trade him and especially not for the deal as presented above. I have to imagine that Stevie Y would sooner give him 8yrs and $10m than Stamkos....which is why it's likely they let Stammer walk...sign the other UFA/RFA's they want to keep...and then wait for the end of next year to see if they want to move forward with Bishop or Vasilevskiy. Hedman likely wears the "C" next season.

Gauthier and Corrado both have minimal trade value and would be "throw-ins" to a deal that might get Barrie...not the centerpiece of the deal....and yes, he will likely cost in the 4.5-5m range to re-sign
