Yes but MTL would never do that. A bust and a old defenseman for a top goalie prospect and Lehkonen ?

No. Sekera is an above average NHL dman and would be the best LD on Mtl's roster.

JP is NOT a bust. He had hip surgery for a reason, likely nagged him all year (speculation is bone spurs), yet he seemed very fast all year. AND he is STILL 20 years old.

Juolevi, the pick right after Jesse in 2016 still hasn't played a single game in the NHL and how many people think he is a bust?

No offense (seriously), but your reasonning is exactly what has been wrong with the Oilers for 10+ years.

1.Falling in love with big potential high ranked picks with development problems. They keep them in a bad context until their value get affected. (Hall, Eberle, Gagner, Yakupov, Paajarvi...)
JP is NOT a nhl player yet and may never be.

Keller, Matthews, Lane, Dubois,Tkachuk, Nylander, Jost are already big pieces af their respective teams at the same age.

2. Neglecting speed an defence: EDM need to get rid of big old buffs (Sekera, Kassian, Lucic, ...) and get players that can keep up with the game (Lehk).
Also, cap problem.
Also (bis), Primeau is a A goalie prospect.

EDM would be foolish to say no to that trade
