With sunk costs in mind isn't there an argument to be made to NOT sign Duchenne. That way you don't have to lose the second 1st

he don't even look all that good playing for CBJ. Like he mailing it in. I'd rather keep the 1st and let the kids play.

I'm not a cbj fan so haven't seen him. But just pointing out the trade actually incentivizes them not to sign him in a weird way

he plays 75% of the season on a team thats supposed to suck and all of asudden hes on a team where games matter. yeah its gonna take him time to get used to that

or he just looked really good on a very untalented team and mehhhhh on a team with talent?

he was good with ottawa 2 years ago. hes not an impact center. but he's a good top 6 center

all i know is I have watched like 5 games and he's been out played by PLD and the dump coach plays PLD less minutes and wonders why they are losing.
My guess is the rookies will play better than him next year and be more of an impact. No sense to waste the 1st round pick on him. He is clearly not an impact player for CBJ.

players need time to fit. case in point, tomas tatar. look what vegas gave up for him. and look how good he is right now. if he was on vegas he would be 2nd in points, goals and assists behind stone.

while I agree with that. CBJ doesn't have time for that. They are fighting to even make the playoffs right now. Every game counts.
