Not sure how close the florida deal is. Only reason I decided to trade for Hub is because of the rumours at the deadline.

seems like a bit much for a guy who's never even cracked 30 goals

27 tucks last year is close enough especially at 25 yrs old, Stone has never hit 30 either but yet Ottawa got a A+ prospect defender and a 2nd round pick while Vegas paid him 9.5 mil per season... So trading an aging Kessel (7 mil cap hit) a low level prospect and a late 1st rounder seems more than fair on the Pittsburgh end for a guy that makes less than 6 mil per for the next 4 years, but I get it keep over valuing Kessel that works...

Dallas says no. No reason to trade for another defenseman. Also, we don’t want to trade Hintz.

Kessel maybe an aging player but a 31 year old kessel is still a better player than a 25 year old Huberdeau. Giving up a prospect and a pick on top of it is losing the trade.
If I'm going to ship Kessel out somewhere it's to a team on the cusp of making a push or one that is already making one. That way I get a better return and don't have to pretend I have to add to a trade while giving up the best player in the trade.

I disagree. Hub may not put up the goals but he is certainly an upgrade defensively. you're getting younger and shedding some cap as well. I think adding the low level prospect is just that and the first is what puts it over the edge.

I don't know much about hintz but those other two deals are utterly stupid. Like if GMJR even considered either one of those he should be fired on the spot for sabotaging the team.

How is the trade with JJ bad. You give up Jarry and let Carolina move up the draft a few picks for them to take that contract. The Hub trade is pretty fair as well, maybe a little too much. You get younger, shed cap and get better defensively in exchange for an aging Kessel at almost 7M a C level prospect at best and a late first. It might be more fair if you give up a 2nd instead of a first but really its not that big of a difference.

I can't take you seriously when you think Hub is the better player. I'm sorry, it's not even close.

for the Carolina trade, Jarry is worth basically a second, so you are trading a second, a third, and Johnson to get back a fourth. Even if the third and fourth are only a difference of ten spots(its likely more than that since Carolina is currently in playoff position) you are saying it takes a second just to get rid of Johnson. While I still don't like that contract, he has been better lately, and if they really wanted to they could bury his contract and get some cap relief without giving up ANY picks, let alone a high draft pick.

for the Florida trade: Kessel>Huberdeau Sopittsburgh shouldn't be the ones throwing in a pretty decent prospect and a 1st to make the deal happen. While him being younger and cheaper than Kessel that does have some impact but not enough for Pittsburgh to throw in a first and also a prospect.
